Chicago jail escapee arrested in San Antonio

Man arrested on tip from Chicago police

SAN ANTONIO – A man who escaped from a jail in Chicago was arrested Tuesday night in San Antonio.

Chicago police called San Antonio police because they thought the man was in the the Alamo City after escaping from the Cook County Jail.

San Antonio police said they set up surveillance at Navidad and Montezuma streets and determined the man was there.

A SWAT team was called in because of the man's history of violence.

When SWAT arrived, police said the man ran out the back door of the home but got tangled in a fence and was arrested.

A woman wanted on a Cook County warrant was arrested for aiding and abetting.
