SAN ANTONIO – A child is recovering after nearly drowning on the city’s West Side Sunday.
Police said the incident occurred at the community pool on the 1800 block of Lake Peipsi in the Estonia neighborhood.

The child, whose age was not released, was at the pool with her mother, police said.
An officer with San Antonio police said the little girl was rushed to Methodist Children’s Hospital in critical condition but is "doing better.”
The officer also said at least one bystander performed CPR on the child, likely saving her life.
By 8:30 p.m., the child was stable and breathing on her own, police said.
