CPS crews head to Florida soon to restore power for Irma victims

Crews to leave at 6 a.m. Wednesday

SAN ANTONIO – Preparations are underway for CPS Energy crews who will head to Florida to help the millions of people left without electricity after Hurricane Irma.

The crews will leave for Florida on Wednesday to help restore power to more than 5 million homes and businesses currently without electricity.

On Tuesday, crews performed a final inspection on vehicles and loaded them with necessary equipment.

Crews will leave San Antonio and head to Jacksonville at 6 a.m. Wednesday. More than 50 CPS employees and dozens of vehicles will take part in the effort.
