Suspect sought in fatal shooting near far West Side church Jesse Salinas, 41, accused of killing Brandon James
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police released a photo of the suspect sought in the killing of a man near a Culebra Road church Friday evening.
Witnesses told police they saw a blue truck parked in a grassy lot next to the church in the 9800 block of Culebra Road. The victim was seen running from the truck onto the road, where he collapsed and died. Police said he was shot.
The victim was identified as Brandon James, 23.
A video taken by a KSAT-12 viewer about a half hour before the slaying helped police identify the suspect, Jesse Salinas, 41. The video showed the truck in the area of the killing. It reportedly was recorded during a heated exchange between James and Salinas.
Salinas is wanted on a murder charge.
Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call either SAPD's Homicide Unit at 210-207-7635 or Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP.
