SAN ANTONIO – A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information into the late Sunday night shooting death of a 27-year-old man at a Northeast Side apartment complex.
San Antonio police found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the Cottage Creek apartments in the 4800 block of Ray Bon Drive. Officers were responding to several calls about gunshots in the area when they found the wounded man.
Paramedics worked on the man for about 30 minutes, but were not able to save him. As of 11:45 a.m. Monday, his name still had not been released.
Officers at the scene said that early on, they were unable to find any witnesses and they didn't have a motive.
Police returned to the apartment complex on Monday morning and appeared to be searching for evidence. They also issued an appeal through Crime Stoppers, asking for information about the case.
The apartment complex, which once operated under a different name, has been the site of numerous incidents stretching back at least a decade. San Antonio Police Department figures show that officers have responded to 125 different incidents at the complex since August.
Although the nature of the police calls varied, a large number were for burglaries, assaults and disturbances. Records show police received five calls about the incident Sunday night.
Staff at the management office declined to comment on the subject. One worker promised to have an off-site manager respond to the inquiry.
