SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County Commissioner Kevin Wolff had a blood alcohol content of 0.20, which is two and a half times the legal limit, according to results of a blood draw that was taken two hours after his drunken driving arrest last summer.
The Texas Department of Public Safety lab results were released Thursday as part of an open records request from The Defenders.

While the original DPS test did not screen for drugs, due to Wolff's elevated blood alcohol content, a follow-up test in January found three drugs that had been prescribed to Wolff, including Zolpidem, a prescription sleep aid commonly called Ambien, in his system.
Wolff released the results of the drug analysis to KSAT 12 on Thursday afternoon. He pointed out that the results confirm what he told the media shortly after his July 31 arrest, that he mixed alcohol with prescription drugs before driving to a Whataburger near his North Side home.
San Antonio Police dashcam video released last week showed an unsteady Wolff, shoeless and in boxer shorts, fail a field sobriety test before being taken into custody.
In a plea deal that was signed last week, Wolff will serve one year of probation and must use an interlock device on his vehicle for six months.
With a BAC of 0.20, it is likely Wolff would have served jail time had he been arrested in another state.
Arizona, for example, charges drivers with super extreme DUI if there BAC is 0.20.
A super extreme conviction carries a minimum 45-day jail sentence and an interlock device is required for 18 months.
In New York, another state with strict DWI laws, drivers with a BAC of 0.18 and above face a mandatory driver's license suspension of at least one year.
