Boerne, Medina Valley, Judson ISD pass bond elections

SAN ANTONIO – Most of the school bond elections before voters on Saturday passed.

Boerne voters passed $175 million bond with nearly 70 percent of the vote.

The bond money will go toward the construction of two elementary schools and a middle school, campus renovations, technology purchases and campus safety and security.

Voters in Judson ISD passed three of the four bonds before them.

Residents said yes to propositions 1, 2 and 4. Prop 1, the biggest measure at $135 million, will fund updates and modernizing many of the district’s campuses with safety and functionality improvements. Prop 2 will build two elementary schools on the north and the south end of the district. Proposition 4 will retire debt incurred when a fire damaged Kirby Middle School.

Voters rejected funding an expansion at Mackey High School which is still under construction.

Voters in Medina Valley ISD gave the thumbs-up to a $78 million dollar bond. That money will fund a new middle school, elementary school and an addition at the high school.
