SAN ANTONIO – A 20-year-old man riding a bicycle was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting late Friday morning on the city's East Side, police said.
The shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lone Oak and Dorie.
Chief William McManus said officers are looking for a silver car.
McManus said some witnesses were taken to Public Safety Headquarters for questioning.
He also voiced his frustration over the violence in the area.
"We have made a lot of arrests in the area for crimes of violence. Unfortunately, there are some still out here who are not getting the message," McManus said. "We are going to further our efforts with the community and a couple of other ideas that we have on how to deal with this. But right now, arresting the problem away hasn't worked."
No motive has been established for the slaying.
The incident is the third shooting in the area in the past 24 hours.
