Father-son dispute leads to shooting, police say

Father shot in foot, police search for son

SAN ANTONIO – A ongoing father and son dispute has come to a head with one being shot in the foot, San Antonio police said.

Officers found the father wounded after responding to a call shortly before 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Theo Avenue.

They said they learned that his son had shot him, wounding him in the foot. Officers at the scene said the two men apparently had been arguing for weeks.

They said the son left the home for a time. After he returned, the argument continued. At one point, police said, the son, who is in his 20s, picked up a gun and shot his father.

They said the son left the scene with the help of someone else who picked him up in a car.

When he is caught, the suspected shooter will face a charge of aggravated assault, police said.
