Firefighters rescue woman from roof due to house fire

Arson investigating cause; damage estimate not known

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters rescued a woman from the roof of her home after her house caught fire overnight, officials said Friday.

The fire was reported just after 1 a.m. in the 3500 block of Rock Creek Run, found on the city's North Side.

Officials said the fire is believed to have started on the right side of the house. Somehow a woman who lived at the home ended up on the roof as a result of the fire.

Firefighters managed to get the woman down off the roof safely. Paramedics then checked her for injuries at the scene.

Arson is now investigating to determine what may have started the fire.

It is not known yet how much damage was caused.
