The NWS states rainfall will be possible through Friday afternoon. The greatest threat for heavy rainfall will be along and to the south of a Langtry, Rocksprings to San Antonio to Hallettsville line.

Isolated pockets of 4 to 6 inches will be possible, potentially resulting in flash flooding especially across low lying and poor drainage areas as well as small creeks, roadways and underpasses.

Overnight, the strongest storms were located along and to the south of Highway 90.

The storms were moving to the south and southeast near 15 mph. These storms have produced very heavy rain, gusty winds and cloud to ground lightning strikes.

San Antonio fire officials responded an incident Friday Morning that involved a lightning strike on the roof of the Holiday Inn on Redland Road. Guests were evacuated, but no injuries were reported.

The severe weather was also to blame for major roof damage at a West Side apartment complex. SAFD officials said strong winds damaged three apartment buildings on Broadview Drive. A manager at the Broadviewe Apartments said a total of 17 units were damaged, but no injuries were reported here either.

As of 11 a.m., CPS Energy reported about 9,000 customers were still without power.

Friday's high will be around 89 with a low around 77. Friday evening is expected to be mostly cloudy as the storms are expected to clear out the area for the weekend.
