SAN ANTONIO – Heavy rain hit the San Antonio area late Thursday night into Friday morning, prompting road closures, power outages and flash flood warnings.
The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio issued a flash flood warning for southern Bexar County in south central Texas until 5:30 a.m.

The NWS states rainfall will be possible through Friday afternoon. The greatest threat for heavy rainfall will be along and to the south of a Langtry, Rocksprings to San Antonio to Hallettsville line.
Isolated pockets of 4 to 6 inches will be possible, potentially resulting in flash flooding especially across low lying and poor drainage areas as well as small creeks, roadways and underpasses.
Overnight, the strongest storms were located along and to the south of Highway 90.
The storms were moving to the south and southeast near 15 mph. These storms have produced very heavy rain, gusty winds and cloud to ground lightning strikes.
As of 11 a.m., CPS Energy reported about 9,000 customers were still without power.
Friday's high will be around 89 with a low around 77. Friday evening is expected to be mostly cloudy as the storms are expected to clear out the area for the weekend.
