SAN ANTONIO – Update: The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said Tuesday that Bexar County Jail inmate Armando Luna, 58, died from cardiovascular disease, hypertension and diabetes.
Story: The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an inmate’s death. Armando Luna, 58, died Sunday evening in his cell.
James Keith with the Sheriff’s Office said they believe Luna died of natural causes.
They said when Luna was found they attempted to revive him. There were no signs of trauma and Keith said Luna had been ill leading up to his death.
Luna was booked into jail on Dec. 25 on a possession of a controlled substance charge. The medical examiner will an autopsy to determine his cause of death.
