SAN ANTONIO – There was a split verdict in the trial of a man accused of capital murder for shooting at a trio of Bexar County deputy constables. On Thursday, he was sentenced to 32 years in prison.
Darnell Rogers, 24, was found not guilty on the attempted capital murder charge, but the jury found him guilty on a county of aggravated assault of a public servant.

Rogers was involved in a South Side shooting with the deputy constables in September 2015. He faces a punishment from five to 99 years to life in prison.
Testimony in the punishment phase of Rogers’ trial begins Thursday morning.
