KISS star Paul Stanley proud to have restaurant in San Antonio

Stanley thrilled to contribute to Eastside revitalization and growth

A member of the rock 'n' roll band KISS paid KSAT a visit Saturday. Paul Stanley has been in San Antonio to see how his new restaurant at the AT&T Center is doing.

Stanley, known as the Starchild, the front man of the legendary rock band KISS, has now turned entrepreneur, taken his newest restaurant Rock 'n' Brews to the Alamo City in the newly renovated AT&T Center.

"Where better to do it than San Antonio? We have a very very fertile history with this town. I remember when the river walk wasn't much more than a swamp," Stanley laughed.

He's kept San Antonio close to his heart over the years, specifically because it's Military City USA.

"We've always been very very connected to the military and made quite a few donations," Stanley said. "What we've done with most of our restaurants when we open them is, the first day to feed the military for free. It's not because they all need a meal but because we want to highlight that these are the people who make freedom possible. Freedom's not free."

Stanley sang the national anthem at Friday night's Spurs game at the AT&T Center, which is the first coliseum he's ever put one of his restaurants in. He's excited about the building's recent face-lift, reflecting the changes happening on the East Side of town.

"It's great because the East Side really is going through a revitalization and Rock 'n Brews is really the restaurant of the future so for people to get a chance to have great food it's great and the atmosphere we have at the AT&T Center is really unique," he said.

He's thrilled to be contributing to change in San Antonio, a city he loves and respects.
