Man, 73, arrested in assault of woman, 68, at homeless shelter

A.C. Jefferson charged with injury to elderly in incident at Haven For Hope

SAN ANTONIO – A 73-year-old man was arrested for punching a 68-year-old woman twice in the mouth at a homeless shelter, an arrest affidavit said.

The assault was reported Saturday in the courtyard at Haven For Hope at 1300 West Martin, the affidavit said.

Police said the victim asked the suspect, A.C. Jefferson, why he had cursed at her the night before.

Jefferson didn't want to talk with the victim, and punched her, the affidavit said.

When questioned by detectives, Jefferson admitted to punching the victim because he said that she had her hand on his arm, the affidavit said.

Jefferson is charged with injury to the elderly.
