Man accused of stealing $15k worth of glue from warehouse

Martin Gutierrez, Jr. charged with theft

SAN ANTONIO – Martin Guiterrez, Jr., 35, is in a bit of a sticky situation after being arrested in connection with the theft of more than $15,000 worth of glue.

Gutierrez worked at the warehouse where the theft occurred, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The affidavit stated that his employer, C&C Wholesale Distributors, filed a report with the San Antonio Police Department in November saying that someone had stolen six pallets of Mapei 980 wood glue from its warehouse. The thefts were believed to have occurred sometime between Nov. 20 and Nov. 24.

Police said surveillance video from the business shows Gutierrez purposely shutting off the cameras in the warehouse.

He also admitted in a recorded telephone conversation to stealing three of the pallets, the affidavit stated.

Police believe he also stole the other three pallets but is refusing to tell anyone where they are, the affidavit stated.

They said Guiterrez has promised to repay the business more than $7,200 for the three pallets that he admitted to stealing, the affidavit stated.
