New information released in prostitution case

Man accused of trafficking teenage girl arrested

SAN ANTONIOUPDATE: New information was released in the case of a man accused of trafficking a child.

Quincy Harrison, 25, was arrested three days ago by San Antonio’s Special Victims Unit.

A 16-year-old girl was taken into custody in April after authorities received word that she was prostituting. She told officers that she needed money and was contacted on Facebook by a suspect who scheduled appointments for her to meet with clients through Backpage.com.

Using forensic data from the victim’s cellphone, officers were able to find the person they suspect was setting up her appointments.

After obtaining a search warrant for Harrison’s cellphone, authorities found enough information to detain him.

Harrison has denied the charges against him.

ORIGINAL STORY: A teenage girl is safe after she was rescued from the grips of an alleged human trafficker. The arrest was part of an operation months in the making and resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Quincy Harrison.

Police said it took more than five months to connect Harrison with continuous trafficking of a child. Harrison denied the charges.

“I don’t got no money. I’m broke. They lying,” he said.

Harrison was arrested by San Antonio’s Special Victims Unit. Police said they first started investigating the case on April 17 when someone alerted them to an apartment complex where a minor was believed to be prostituting.

Police rescued the teenage girl, who had run away from home and was allegedly listed on Backpage.com and engaging in criminal activity.

On Nov. 8, police conducted a traffic stop and arrested Harrison on drug possession charges. They also found phones they believe directly linked him to the victim and the Backpage.com website.

San Antonio police Officer Doug Greene said the teenage girl is safe, but their job is far from over.

"There may be other victims that maybe associated with Mr. Harrison, so we're asking if anybody recognizes this individual as being engaged in this kind of activity, we want them to call the Special Victims Unit at 207-2313,” Greene said.

Police have also not ruled the possibility that there could be more arrests in this case.
