BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – David Rojas, 31, is accused of threatening to launch an attack, using guns and grenades, against officers at Public Safety Headquarters and the Bexar County jail.
Rojas was arrested Thursday on a charge of retaliation.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated that officers responded to a convenience store in the 900 block of S. Hackberry August 1 where two people told them they heard Rojas making threats.
The affidavit stated that the witnesses said while inside the business, they heard Rojas say that this was going to be his last day and that he was either "going to be dead or in jail."
The witnesses said Rojas also talked about killing officers, that he was going to "shoot and destroy" them at the main police station and the jail, the affidavit said. They said he told them he recently had obtained two grenades that he planned to use in the attack, as well as an AK rifle.
The affidavit stated that the witnesses also told investigators that they actually saw that type of weapon in the back seat of Rojas' car.
Officers who responded to the call obtained a license plate number from the witnesses and compared it to a vehicle seen on the store's surveillance video. They said the information was identical, and that the man in the video appeared to be Rojas.
He was taken into custody Thursday night. Records at the magistrate's office indicated that Rojas was being uncooperative with authorities.
