Robbery suspect who shot BB gun at Home Depot employees arrested

John Hampton faces aggravated robbery charges

SAN ANTONIO – A man is facing aggravated robbery charges after creating a chaotic scene during a robbery attempt at a local Home Depot, an arrest affidavit said.

Police say that back on Dec. 27 a man tried to leave a home improvement store located in the 400 block of West Sunset without paying for his items when he was confronted by store employees. That's when, the affidavit said, John Hampton allegedly entered the store and started shooting at employees with a BB gun.

Hampton and the other man then ran out of the store and into the same car, the affidavit said.

A witness at the scene wrote down the license plate number and police used it to track Hampton down, the affidavit said.

Two employees were hurt in the incident but their injuries were not life-threatening.
