Man arrested in shooting death of West Side father

SAN ANTONIO – Police have arrested a man for the homicide of a West Side father.

Maurice Medina, 36, remains behind bars charged with murder in the shooting death of Pedro Segovia.

On Nov. 6, Segovia, 38, was found shot in the head in a backyard in the 900 block of Cecelia Street.

Witnesses told police Medina took away a woman’s cellphone and the two began to argue. That is when Segovia intervened.

The men began to argue and Medina is accused of shooting Segovia after a brief struggle.

According to police, a witness told them they heard Medina apologize before running from the scene.

Segovia was a father of six.
