Man dead in late-night shooting on West Side

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 20s was shot and killed late Thursday night just west of downtown, San Antonio police said.

The shooting was reported at 11 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Frio Street and West Houston Street, found not far from a VIA transit station.

Police said a man was shot multiple times before a silver or gray car sped off towards Buena Vista Street.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

SAPD said at this time they do not know what led up to the shooting, but that they are looking at surveillance tapes from surrounding buildings.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
