Man found shot dead on East Houston identified

SAN ANTONIO – The identity of a man found shot to death on a woman’s front porch last week was revealed by the medical examiner.

The medical examiner said 34-year-old Jason Montrell Johnson was found shot dead in the 4100 block of East Houston Street.

A woman told police she opened her door Wednesday morning and found Johnson lying on her porch with gunshot wounds. He did not live in her apartment, and the woman said she doesn’t know him.

Police at the scene said they believe it was a targeted killing at a random location.
