Man shot, killed in home invasion in North Bexar County

Shooting reported Sunday night at PURE View at TPC

SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot and killed in a home invasion Sunday night at a north Bexar County apartment complex.

The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. at the PURE View at TPC in the 4000 block of TPC Parkway.

Witnesses told sheriff's deputies that two men wearing bandanas hiding behind a woman forced their way inside an apartment after the victim answered a knock at his door.

Deputies said one of the men fired several shots, wounding the victim at least once. The victim was airlifted to University Hospital, where he died.

No arrests have been made and a motive for the shooting has not been released.

An apartment resident, who did not want to be identified, said they heard the gunshots. They also said criminal activity at the complex is uncommon.

"Over here in these apartments, no, ... in fact never in my life. So, actually this is my first time," the resident said.

But another resident, who also didn't want to be identified, said that another resident said he saw a white vehicle driving back and forth in the complex earlier in the day. The resident also said a security camera was painted over.

Other residents said the apartment where the shooting happened always smelled of marijuana.

"You could smell the weed, here, and I am on the other side of the building," the resident said.

Another resident said he reported the victim to management three times.

KSAT 12 News reached out to apartment management for a response but as of 1 p.m. Monday, hadn't heard back from them.
