SAN ANTONIO – A North Side family is on edge after a driver lost control and came crashing through their backyard fence.
The driver of the SUV was airlifted to University Hospital in critical condition. Police aren’t sure if he had a medical episode, fell asleep or just lost control of his GMC Yukon.
The Yukon went through a backyard fence and then hit a tree.
Police said the driver was going southbound when for some reason he lost control. They said the 42-year-old man was by himself and was trapped inside the vehicle while it was smoking.
Police said several witnesses stopped to help, but were unable to get the driver out until firefighters arrived and pulled him out.
No one else was injured in the crash.
