Costume clad shooters wound 5 at Halloween party

Police say one suspect dresses like Freddy Krueger

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for two people involved in a Northwest side shooting where five people were shot.

According to police, one of the suspects was wearing a Freddy Krueger costume at the time of the shooting.

The trouble started around 5 a.m. Sunday when the men arrived at a house in the 2900 block of Aspen Meadow.

The two men got into a fight with someone at the party and one of the suspects then pulled out a gun and fired, said police.

Investigators say the suspects then took off.

Police said five people, four men and one woman, were shot and taken to University hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Cassie Nogueron lives next door. She said she called 911 when she heard the gunfire.

“I know the sound of gunshots. We go to the gun range and you recognize the sound. It’s loud. It’s scary,” Norgueron said. “We just heard them and thought, ‘Oh no! What’s going on?’”

William Warren also heard the gunshots.

“It woke me up in the middle of the night,” he said. “I heard a bunch of yelling and screaming and hollering… Next thing I know I heard a couple of shots and then four of five shots after that and I could see the flashes and everything.”

Police are looking into whether there are other victims. So far no arrests have been made.
