Man shot during argument at Southeast Side apartment

Shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. Wednesday

SAN ANTONIO – A man is in the hospital after being shot during a late-night argument, San Antonio police said Thursday.

The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. Wednesday at the New Riviera Apartments located near Pecan Valley Drive and Dollarhide Drive on the city's Southeast Side.

Police said three men were arguing downstairs when one of the men pulled out a gun and fired two shots into the air. That's when, police said, a second man pulled out their gun and fired several of their own shots hitting the victim in the stomach.

Police said both people with guns fled the scene following the shooting.

The man shot ran to a nearby gas station to call for help, police said. The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
