Man shot in leg during drive-by on East Side, police say

Shooting reported just before 7 a.m. in 1500 block of Upland Rd

SAN ANTONIO – A young man was wounded in a drive-by shooting outside an apartment complex on the city's far East Side, San Antonio police said Tuesday.

The shooting was reported just before 7 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Upland Road.

Police said the victim was standing outside waiting for a friend when a car pulled up and started firing.

The victim was shot in the leg and was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center before police arrived.

The car in this shooting is similar to the one involved in a gun battle on Hays Street early Tuesday, police said.
