Man's body found with gunshot wounds at East Side apartment

Victim's body found in 4600 block of Dietrich Road

SAN ANTONIO – A man’s body was found with gunshot wounds on the far East Side Monday morning.

San Antonio police said the victim’s body was located in the 4600 block of Dietrich Road.

Neighbors said they heard gunshots early in the morning, but the victim’s body was not found until hours later when a person walking by the Madison Apartment complex noticed the man and called 911.

Police said that person thought the victim was either injured or sick, but police arrived and determined the man had been shot to death.

Several shell cases were found near the victim, but police have not released any other information related to the case, including the victim’s name or age.

Friends and family told KSAT they believe the victim was on his way to work. Another neighbor told KSAT this is the first time they have seen a crime scene in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call San Antonio Crimestoppers at 224-STOP (7867).
