Molak family to testify for 'David's Law' at public hearing

Bill is aimed at preventing and combating cyberbullying

AUSTIN, Tx – The Molak family along with Sen. José Menéndez, and Sen. Leo Vasquez will testify on Thursday at a State Affairs public hearing on behalf of SB 179 or "David's Law".

"David's Law" is aimed at preventing and combating cyberbullying. The bill is named after 16-year-old David Molak, who tragically took his own life after being cyberbullied.

If the bill passes, the law will require school districts to have an anonymous avenue for students to report bullying.

It would also give school districts the ability to investigate off-campus events and to collaborate with law enforcement on investigations.
