SAN ANTONIO – Numbers released Friday by New America showed that if parents are having trouble paying for child care, they are not alone.
The Care Report studied child care availability, quality and cost and compared it to the incomes of the people using it.
In Texas, the study showed that approximately 26 percent of parental income was allocated to paying for child care while the parent is at work.
While the quality of care in Texas was only slightly below average, the expense to income ratio showed it was expensive as compared to other states.
