SAN ANTONIO – New details have emerged in a bloody attack on three people inside a Northwest side home last Thursday night.
That information is contained in an arrest warrant affidavit that was released after the arrest of a suspect, Luis Antonio Arroyo, 39.
Arroyo was taken into custody Sunday on a count of capital murder.
San Antonio police found all three victims inside a home in the 3800 block of Sherril Brook Road around 11:30 p.m. Thursday after responding to a call about shots fired there.
The affidavit stated that officers found signs that someone had kicked open the front door. Inside a bedroom, they found Rodney Spring, 47, already dead. The affidavit stated he had been stabbed in the chest and had a "superficial wound" on the side of his head.
They also found Quickether Jackson, 36, and her 56-year-old mother lying on the floor of the living room, the affidavit stated.
It stated that the older woman had been shot in the abdomen and stabbed in the back. She is recovering from her injuries.
Jackson had been shot in the forehead, stabbed in the chest and had severe injuries to her face and head, the affidavit stated. She died later at a hospital.
Police have not mentioned a motive for the attack. However, the affidavit stated that at least one victim knew Arroyo and that he had been to the home before.
Detectives said they developed leads from a witness that Arroyo was their suspect, and at least one person identified him from a photo.
Online records show Arroyo has several prior arrests, mostly related to drug offenses. The records also show he was on parole until 2018 as a result of one of those prior crimes.
