Northpark Subaru donates van to Animal Defense League

Organization saves thousands of animals every year

SAN ANTONIO – A local organization that saves thousands of animals every year got some relief thanks to a big donation on wheels.

Northpark Subaru donated a practically new van to the Animal Defense League. For the last three year, the dealership has chosen ADL as its hometown charity.

The donation was greatly needed to continue picking up more than 3,000 homeless pets in the area. Most of the animals rescued come from San Antonio Animal Care Services.

"It’s about a 22-24 mile drive from our campus to the Animal Care Services campus, so we need a reliable vehicle that has good air conditioning. I can’t tell you the value of this gift. It is truly invaluable,” said Janice Darling, Animal Defense League executive director.

The Animal Defense League rescues nearly 3,200 animals every year. That’s an average of about eight dogs per day.
