Organization that brings life-changing care to orphans encourages others to help

SAN ANTONIO – Honoring your mother by helping children who don't have one. That’s the goal of the Miracle Foundation for this upcoming Mother's Day.

The Miracle Foundation brings life-changing care to orphans in deplorable living conditions.

Martie Noll said her life was changed forever after her first trip to an orphanage in India with the Miracle Foundation.

"There are so many children just left," Noll said. "I saw the difference that the Miracle Foundation is really doing for these children, that they're not just left alone."

The Miracle Foundation, which was founded on Mother's Day in 2000 by Caroline Boudreaux, works to turn struggling institutional orphanages into stable, nurturing homes, where children can reach their full potential.

"They provide food, medical, everything we would get our own child," Noll said. "They give them love. They give them a future, an education."

Noll said she saw firsthand what the foundation could do after meeting 4-year-old Dapak, who had just been in the orphanage for a few days. At the time, he was malnourished and timid.

Three months later, when her husband returned to the same orphanage, Dapak was a new little boy.

"He had gained weight," Noll said. "He looked very healthy, and the difference between the before and after pictures when I had him and when my husband had him, it's just unbelievable."

The Miracle Foundation currently supports 30 orphanages, which are mainly in India, but some are in Egypt and Uganda.

Through a new Mother's Day campaign, the organization is inviting people to honor their moms in a meaningful way by donating and helping less fortunate children.

"What better gift to give a mother to know that she's helped another child in this world that doesn't have a mother," Noll said.
