Parade, block party being held for Helotes Little League World Series champions

Free event scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday

HELOTES, Texas – A parade and block party for the 2016 Helotes Little League World Series champions will be held Saturday.

The city of Helotes and the Greater Helotes Little League will host the event, which is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Organizers said the parade will start at the First Baptist Church of Helotes on Old Bandera Road, continue down Old Bandera Road, turn onto Riggs Road and disband at Helotes Elementary.

Event-goers can celebrate with the team at Floore's Country Store. Organizers said lunch is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It is recommended to bring chairs, blankets, suntan lotion and an umbrella, organizers said.
