A police officer said a patron went into the building and told a manager that the deck was on fire.

No one was injured and everyone inside the building escaped safely, San Antonio Fire Department battallion Chief Brooke Hildreth said.

Arson investigators will look into the cause of the fire because of "unusual circumstances," Hildreth said.

Damage was estimated at $20,000.

The restaurant, which had only minor damage inside the building, wasn't expected to be closed long.
