Persons of interest sought in Christmas Eve killing of Schertz businessman

Gift cards missing from victim's home used in Houston area

SCHERTZ, Texas – The Schertz Police Department has released surveillance images of persons of interest in the killing of businessman Henry Gutierrez.

Police said Gutierrez was killed at his home Christmas Eve. Investigators said gift cards were missing from the victim's home and are believed to be stolen.

Some of the cards were used at two Target stores and one Academy sporting goods store in the Houston area.

Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $18,500 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this capital murder case. The reward is in effect until April 30.

Below is surveillance footage of an Academy store in Spring, Texas, on Dec. 26 and Dec. 30. After both transactions, the female and male persons of interest leave in a white Saturn Vue SUV with a sunroof and newer Texas license plates, police said.

The pictures below are from a Target store in Spring on Dec. 28. Police said two woman are seen and later picked up by what appears to be the same Saturn Vue as in the Academy transactions. Police said the vehicle was seen circling the parking lot as the women were inside.

The final transaction was at a Target in Conroe, Texas, on Jan. 6. A man and woman are seen with two small children. They are seen leaving in a dark-colored SUV with racing rims. Police said the man appears to have tattoos on the back of his neck and hands. The woman has a sleeve of tattoos on her arm, police said.
