Police ID victim, alleged shooter in murder case

Christopher Lee Hanna, 18, arrested Friday

SAN ANTONIO – Investigators with the San Antonio Police Department arrested Christopher Lee Hanna Friday and charged him with the murder of 19-year-old Gavin Guedea.

Guedea's body was discovered by family members along a Northwest Side trail on Aug. 28. He had been fatally shot.

Shortly after Guedea was found police questioned three witnesses who were with him that night.

According to the arrest affidavit, one witness told police that while he was with Guedea on the 26, Hanna called and asked for a ride. Guedea agreed to pick him up. The witness said he never heard from Guedea again.

Two more witnesses told police they each saw Guedea and Hanna together that same night. One witness told police they saw Hanna with a 9 mm pistol, while the other said he saw the two men walking in the back of Meyers Park around 12:30 a.m.

On Friday, Hanna was taken into custody by police after leaving a West Side restaurant. The affidavit states that Hanna admitted seeing Guedea on the 26, but during the day.

Investigators said Hanna's story changed several times before he ultimately confessed to shooting the 19-year-old.

Hanna now faces murder charges.
