Police looking for clues in 2 separate hit-and-run accidents

First incident occurred March 11, second on April 15

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers want the public’s assistance in tracking down the people responsible for two separate hit-and-run accidents.

The first accident occurred Saturday March 11 in the 100 block of Brighton Avenue on the city's South Side.

Police said the victim was crossing the street northbound when a primer gray, 1950's Chevrolet truck on Pleasanton Road struck the victim and ran him over.

The driver of the Chevy truck fled the scene westbound after failing to render aid to the victim, police said. The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment.

The second accident occurred on April 15 in the 100 block of West Grayson Street near the La Gloria restaurant at the Pearl.

According to police, in that instance two people were crossing the street when they were struck by an older model Ford Bronco or an older model Chevy Blazer which was speeding westbound.

The sport utility vehicle was described as having a light brown or light blue body color with a white or light colored top.

The driver fled the scene without stopping to give information or render aid to the victims, police said.

Anyone with information about these separate crimes are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP.

Tips can also be texted to CRIMES (274637) or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
