Texas Senate tentatively signs off on 'bathroom bill' in 21-10 vote
No description foundAUSTIN – The Texas Senate has tentatively signed off on the so-called “bathroom bill” in a 21-10 vote.
The controversial bill would regulate which restrooms trangender people can use in government buildings.
Supporters of Senate Bill 6 said the bill will protect women using the bathroom. Critics say it’s discriminatory.
The upper chamber must still give the legislation a final stamp of approval before sending it to the Texas House of Representatives.
The vote could come as early as Wednesday.
