BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Officials say 56 people were arrested in Bexar County after a 10-day prostitution sweep called "Operation Clean Sweep."
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office, working in conjunction with Homeland Security, Office of the Attorney General, DPS, and US Border patrol participated in the effort.

Deputies said the local effort was part of the "National Day of John's" operation, a national effort, based in Cook County, IL that wrapped up on Sunday.
Authorities said Operation Clean Sweep included efforts to identify and arrests street prostitutes, "John's" seeking prostitutes, illegally operating massage parlors, prostitutes providing "in call" services to (John's go to prostitutes locations), prostitutes providing "out call" services via online solicitation (prostitutes go to John's location), and pedophiles seeking to have sex with minors via on-line solicitation.
Seventy-two people were detained or contacted in the local operation, with 56 arrests made and 6 of those being felonies.
Deputies said there were two possible victims of human trafficking, with HSI conducting a follow-up investigation.
Authorities have recovered a gun, a stolen 2012 BMW, a stolen 2010 Chrysler 300, a stolen television, 32 grams of marijuana, 5.4 grams of cocaine and 1 gram of methamphetamine.
Deputies said 34 vehicles were also impounded.
Of those that were arrested, deputies said nine were street prostitutes (3 felonies), three were illegally operating massage parlors, there were 34 "Johns" (1 felony), four in-call prostitutes, two female prostitutes (who solicited online), two men (felony solicitation of minors online), and two were arrested for evading arrest and obstructing justice.
No deputies were injured as a result of the local operation, according to BCSO.
