SAN ANTONIO – Mayor Ivy Taylor talked about her vision for San Antonio on Friday.

Taylor addressed the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce at the Omni Hotel at the Colonnade.

Following are highlights from her speech:

Vista Ridge Pipeline is coming in on time and on budget.

15 companies have relocated or expanded in past year.

2 major headquarter projects provided 1,500 jobs.

Biomedical industry jobs coming to North Side.

She's happy that a new police union contract was agreed upon. It was a top priority for her. She understands the concerns from officers who voted against it.

Effectively ended veteran homelessness. Wants every veteran to have a home.

City secured $135 million for new federal courthouse downtown.

Downtown landscape will change with Weston Urban Frost Tower.

Applauded World Heritage Sites designation of SA Missions

Taylor also outlined the following challenges the city faces:

Improve police/community relations to help reduce spike in violence on East Side.

Smart City. How to use technology and make government more responsive to citizens.

Reinforcing downtown as a technology hub.
