Those with information are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department's Robbery Task Force Unit is searching for a man involved in an aggravated robbery who stole an SUV on Nov. 20 while the owner's infant son was inside the vehicle, which was then hit by a bullet fired by another man.

The carjacker was being chased by another male armed with a handgun. In an effort to get away, the carjacker “pistol-whipped” the owner of the SUV and left in the victim’s vehicle.

The other male got into a gold Ford truck being driven by an unknown person and gave chase after the stolen SUV.

At least one shot fired from the truck which entered the cabin of the SUV, missing the child, who was seated in a car seat. The carjacker called 911, saying that he was being shot with a rifle and subsequently abandoned the stolen SUV with the uninjured child inside at Gillett and Zarzamora.

The carjacker has been described by police as Hispanic, age 24 - 27, around 5 feet 8 inches tall and 230 pounds with a medium build and brown hair.

If anyone has information on the carjacker they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867).
