SAPD: Man assaults ex-girlfriend, attacks patrol cars

No officers injured during incident on Golden Valley

SAN ANTONIO – A man was taken into custody late Tuesday night after a bizarre incident on the Southwest Side.

Officers were dispatched to the 6100 block of Golden Valley near Ray Ellison Drive around 10:30 p.m. after they received reports that a woman was being beaten at a home.

The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment, but police said the suspect, her ex-boyfriend, went back into the house.

More officers responded to the disturbance, but police said the man came outside with a knife and slashed two patrol cars with officers inside.

The suspect went back inside and the home was surrounded by officers. He spoke with officers and came back outside, and was taken into custody.

Police said the suspect is expected to face charges in connection with the attack on his ex girlfriend and the attack on the patrol units even though no officers were injured.
