SAPD: Man shot in leg on city's West Side

Victim's wounds not life-threatening

SAN ANTONIO – Conflicting stories about an evening shooting have San Antonio police looking for answers Saturday.

The shooting occurred just after 4 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Northwest 36th Street at West Commerce, just north of Old Highway 90. 

Police said the man who was shot claims a gun fell out of a bag and went off, hitting him in the leg.

But witnesses tell police two men were together and the victim told the shooter to run. 

Police said at this time the victim refuses to cooperate and that they are looking for a suspect with a shotgun, possibly on a bike.

The victim's wounds were not life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
