Sheriff's deputy surrenders following assault indictment

Detention Deputy Ronald Bailey charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

SAN ANTONIO – A Bexar County Sheriff's Office detention deputy turned himself in to authorities Thursday following an indictment on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

In September 2014, Bailey held a kitchen knife to a child's neck and threatened to cut his throat if he didn't be quiet, according to a San Antonio police report.

Ronald Bailey has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation, sheriff's officials said Thursday.
