Man, woman killed in murder-suicide outside grocery store

BCSO believes pair were recently separated husband and wife

SAN ANTONIO – Two people died Monday night in what the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office now says was a murder-suicide.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. near a convenience store in 11000 block of U.S. Highway 181.

James Keith, a spokesman for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, said based on a preliminary investigation, it appears an older model Ford Truck crashed into the back of a Saturn Vue.

That's when, Keith said, the vehicles stopped outside a grocery store where the man driving the truck got out and shot and killed the woman driving the Vue before shooting and killing himself.

Keith said the Bexar County Sheriff's Office believes that the two were husband and wife and had recently separated.

Keith said the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the names of the deceased once family notification has been made.
