GEORGE WEST – The George-West Police Department along with the Live Oak County Sheriff's Department are continuing their search for an inmate that escaped the Live Oak County Criminal Justice Center over the weekend, KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi reports.

According to KRIS-TV, Jake Childers was arrested after first fighting with a game warden who followed him to an unauthorized fishing area. Childers ran from the scene before finally being arrested in Austin a few days later.

Childers escaped again late Saturday night, officials said.

Authorities said Childers is on the run in the George-West area, which is roughly an hour and 30 minutes south of San Antonio. He was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit, shackles on his ankles and chains around his waist. He is 5 foot 5 and weighs about 155 pounds.

Police said they consider Childers dangerous and urged people in the area to lock their car doors, house doors, and not make any contact with him. Residents have been told to immediately call 9-1-1 if they see anyone suspicious.
