VIA schedule changes to be introduced in January

Service changes to VIA's Primo service will be introduced in January, enhancing its schedule reliability.

VIA spokespeople said Primo 100 will become two routes, operating its existing service between Ellis Alley and the Medical Center Transit Center every 10 minutes and adding the Primo 101 route, which will service Leon Valley to the Medical Center Transit Center and onto the UTSA main campus every 30 minutes.

Other service changes include the U.S. 90 Express Route, which will be modified to run clockwise on all trips at the end of the route by Northwest Vista College.

A minor change will also be made to VIVA missions (40) as the route moves from Alamo Street to Cesar Chavez Boulevard before continuing onto St. Mary's Street.

VIA spokespeople said that due to street and sidewalk closures near East Commerce Street between South St. Mary's and Soledad streets, bus stops for the lineup routes in downtown will be relocated.

The following routes were named to have minor schedule adjustments: 4, 9, 11, 14, 21, 25, 26, 43, 67, 68, 75, 79, 515, 524, 642, and 648.
