Water main break causes problems on Northwest Side

Large area of Loop 1604, Culebra Road affected, SAWS says

SAN ANTONIO – A water main break affected San Antonio Water System customers Monday morning on the city's Northwest Side.

SAWS officials said a contractor hit a 24-inch water main at Loop 1604 and Culebra Road.

Residents in Alamo Ranch, Braun Road and the SeaWorld area are affected.

Texas Department of Transportation officials said water was reported in the southbound lanes of Loop 1604 and Culebra Road.

SAWS officials said crews are working on the situation but there is no estimate on when service will be restored.

The water is safe to drink, SAWS officials said.
