SAN ANTONIO – An 80-year-old woman was injured Monday while apparently trying to stop a VIA bus, police and VIA officials said.
VIA officials said a Primo bus was pulling away from a bus stop in the 1000 block of West Martin at 11 a.m. when the woman struck the bus with both hands in the vehicle's midsection.

The woman lost her footing and fell to the ground, and her legs were run over by the bus, police said.
The victim was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries to her legs, police said. She was last reported in stable condition, police said.
The VIA operator stopped the bus and remained at the scene.
